He´s brought more change in 100 days than bush did in 2.922. On economy, health care and energy, he has moved USA forward. He´s handling two wars, swine flu, Pakistan and the global economy. He has put into motion not just the policies that will turn economy around, but his style, his tone, his demeneanor, along with the subsstance.
He made to decisions, closing Gitmo and banning interrogations, almoust without regard to their efficasey. He gets lots of credit for trying to solve huge problems that landed on his desk that weren´t part of his agenda. He's 100-day agenda would be designed, in part, to improve America's global image. But there is something worse than being unpopular in the world -- and that is being a pleading, panting joke, which was how Bush image was when he was president.
What might be the biggest change, however, is the mentality toward our government. Americans have had a standoffish relationship with those who govern them since the days of the 13 Colonies, and only on rare occasions have we trusted our executive leaders without the encouragement of impending disaster. Obama stands to provide methodical and calculated guidance that benefits all of us daily, not just in his everyones towering rhetoric. Whether you agree with it or not, change is coming. Obama has some lofty goals, and I feel safe in saying that most will not be completed before my time at Case ends. What is on his side, however, is the fact that any change at this point is better than nothing, and he has already created an atmosphere of connected people where people are ready to change, is like they say;
"yes we can!"
